DESCRIPTION:This committee produces the annual inspirational networking breakfast in honor of International Women?s Day and Women?s History Month in partnership with the City of Santa Monica?s Commission on the Status of Women. This motivational and fun event gathers the top women business leaders from and  around Santa Monica. Each year\, ?Owlies? are chosen in relation to the theme of International Women?s Day and for their commitment to the community. In 2017\, we recognized Amy Ziering\, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winning documentary filmmaker and Elaine Polachek\, Assistant City Manager.   Our Honorees in year?s past include actress and philanthropist\, Jennifer Garner and Bettina Duval\, founder\, CaliforniaList\, Mallika Chopra\, Author\, Blogger\, Founder of Intent.com\, Santa Monica Chief of Police Jacqueline Seabrooks\, Channel 11 news anchor and Wednesday?s Child Founder Christine Devine.  The Committee also plans mini community events throughout the year to  support local women owned businesses.
