He is Santa Monica's Director on the Board of the Clean Power Alliance of Southern California\, bringing Santa Monica 100% renewably sourced electricity.  McKeown also serves on the state of California's Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission.\n\n \nRick Cole has served as City Manager of Santa Monica since June 2015.  During his tenure\, he has spearheaded work on the City Council's five Strategic Goals: converting the Santa Monica Airport to parkland\; forging a new model of mobility\; taking regional leadership on homelessness\; fostering an inclusive and diverse community\; and promoting wellbeing so that residents Learn & Thrive.\n\n\n\nCynthia Renaud was sworn in as the Santa Monica Chief of Police on May 8\, 2018.  In this role\, she leads a full-service police department of 436.3 employees -  224 sworn officers and 212.3 professional staff - who work diligently to provide high quality service for 90\,000 residents and millions of annual visitors to the city's 8.4 square mile footprint.  Along with patrol and investigative functions\, the Santa Monica Police Department maintains a SWAT team\, a Motor unit\, a Mounted unit\, K-9 officers\, Homeless Liaison Program\, Bicycle Patrol\, School Resource Officers\, Animal Control Unit\, City Jail\, Community Affairs Unit\, Records Administration\, Front Desk services\, Forensics Lab\, and a Pier & Harbor Services team who provide service on the Pier and water rescue support.
